Our approach
Learning through roots, mud, and wonder
At Dunbar Nature Program, we believe the outdoors is the best classroom. Our small-group program gives children aged 3–5 the space to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace — guided by caring, ECE-certified educators who know how to follow a child's curiosity.
With a maximum ratio of one teacher to six children, every child receives the attention and support they need to feel safe, confident, and deeply connected to the natural world around them.

Extended Program
Monday to Friday
9:00 am – 11:30 am
Our full-week program offers the richest immersion in outdoor learning. Children build deep friendships and develop a strong connection to nature through daily exploration.

A wonderful introduction to nature-based learning. Three mornings a week of guided outdoor play, seasonal discovery, and joyful exploration with a small, caring group.

Our natural classrooms
We spend our mornings in some of Vancouver's most beautiful green spaces — close to home and rich with seasonal wonder.
Memorial West Park
Our home base, right next to Dunbar Community Centre. A beloved neighbourhood park with open meadows, mature trees, and plenty of space for little explorers.
Pacific Spirit Park
A magnificent urban forest with winding trails, towering Douglas firs, and a rich forest floor — perfect for seasonal nature walks and discovery.
Community nature areas
We venture into other green pockets throughout the neighbourhood, following the seasons and the children's curiosity wherever it leads.
